Batteries

The battery is an important part of the moped or scooter. Without the battery there is no energy in the vehicle and it will not start. Because there are so many different types of batteries, we recommend using the handy vehicle filter. By filling in the brand, model and type you can see exactly which battery is suitable for your vehicle. The different batteries are explained below.

Battery with gel/acid

These batteries are ready to use. The Nitro batteries are ready to use and do not need to be refilled with acid later. The advantage is that if the battery is empty, you can order a new one right away and don't have to fill it yourself. When ordering, make sure you order the right battery. It sometimes happens that a manufacturer of a model has produced several batteries. Always check beforehand whether the type code matches the old battery.

Batteries with acid

These batteries are maintenance free. The Novascoot battery is once filled with battery acid. This acid package is included in the delivery. When the battery is filled it is closed with a strip and is maintenance free. The battery no longer needs to be refilled with battery water. However, it does happen that a manufacturer has produced a model with different batteries. Therefore, always check beforehand whether the type code corresponds to that of the old battery.

Batteries without acid

The Yuasa batteries are supplied without acid. Before first use, the battery should always be filled with battery acid, not with battery water. Battery water is only used for refilling if the filling is below the level. However, it sometimes happens that a manufacturer has produced a model with several batteries. Always check beforehand whether the type code corresponds to that of the old battery.
