No piston without piston rings.
Does your scooter have trouble starting properly, does it stall regularly? Then check your piston. The piston may be faulty or damaged and will then need to be replaced. In general, a new piston comes with piston rings, piston pin and circlips. When assembling the piston rings, make sure to install them in the correct direction without damaging them.
Where do you place the piston rings?
To mount your piston rings correctly, check the piston and look for the small pin in the piston ring groove on the piston. Position the piston rings so that the pin falls between the opening of the rings. Some piston rings are tapered and fit into the piston ring groove only one way. Depending on the engine, a piston can be equipped with one or more piston rings. Take precautions when mounting the rings on the piston, the rings are fragile elements that easily break. Make sure there is no debris in the piston ring groove. On our site you will find tools that can help you with the installation of the piston rings.
