Making a thread yourself is not easy if you do not have a minimum of manual practice and if you do not have the essential tapping tools. Tapping is the action either creating a thread in a smooth tube or to drill a hole on a part of your scooter. The thread insert, the helicoil repair set.
The helicoïl repair set is a threading tool which we also call a thread insert. This threading tool usually contains a tap, helicoils and a specific spiral placement tool, a tongue cutter and an appropriate drill bit. The threading tool that is the repair set allows you to reconstruct a thread that is damaged, worn or even non-existent. If you are familiar with helicoils, you know that they have a tab which is useful when fitting the insert and which can be cut after fitting using the tab cutting tool provided.
