The ignition is essential for the power supply.
The ignition is the power source for all of your scooter's electrical components. If a malfunction occurs and the battery is no longer charged as a result, the cause could be the stator. For vehicles with Di-Tech or injection technology, an official workshop test device can be used to trace the source of the malfunction to locate it. With many models, the pick-up is not available separately, so if it's broken the entire stator has to be replaced.
►Different names for ignition
The ignition is also called armature plate, stator, ground plate, alternator or generator. The stator supplies the power that makes the motor run, but also the power that makes the lighting and other electrical equipment work.
►Stator Parts
The ground plate is the plate on which the coils are placed. The pick-up or pulse sensor is often located on the ground plate and registers every revolution of the motor. The magnetic flywheel, also known as the rotor, is sometimes offered as part of a kit with the ignition or can optionally be ordered separately.
►Ignition manufacturer
In addition to the wide range of original brands, such as Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera, Derbi, Aprilia, Yamaha, Sym, Peugeot or Yamaha, there are also alternative well-known suppliers of ignitions such as MVT, RMS, Novascoot and Top Performances. Polini and Malossi racing ignitions are also in the EasyParts range.
►Use the vehicle filter to find the correct stator
If you are not sure which ignition fits your vehicle, simply enter your make, model and type of scooter in the vehicle filter so that you can find the right item. In the exploded view drawings, which we offer under original parts, you can undoubtedly also find the correct original ignition. Make sure you select the correct catalog that matches your frame number. When in doubt, you can always send an email to our customer service, stating the full frame number.
